Kellie Martin is the American actress and filmmaker best known for her role as Christy Huddleston on the period drama "Christy", Rebecca Thatcher on the family drama Life Goes On> and Lucy Knight for the medical drama ER. Additionally, she's famous for her role as the main character in"The Hailey Dean Mystery television series. Martin was born to a department store purchaser and kindergarten teacher started her career as an actress at age seven, when her aunt who worked as a nanny to actor Michael Landon's children assisted Martin land a role in 1982 series "Father Murphy". Martin began her professional acting career after graduating Yale University. This led to her being offered major parts in both the television as well as the film industry. Martin as well as being an accomplished dancer and actress, is also a successful ballet photographer. As a mother to two children, she has become the National spokesperson for Lupus. She has also promoted awareness of this disease ever since her younger sister died from the illness at age 19.
